Even the warriors have a heart!

It’s impressive to be a warrior and more so because you have the power making a difference. A warrior could be in the field of health care or society or being a personal councillor. I am talking about the folks who help you out during adversity or during challenging times.

These are strong people who have the right mindset, patience and a heart of steel. They have the power of listening and yet will come up with ingenious solutions.

One common aspect about the warriors is that they are out there doing things. They don’t sit in the drawing room and give suggestions. They aren’t the ones who will be just on the WhatsApp and give wisdom to the world. In fact they speak the least and do the most.

But they too have a heart that can be hurt. Warriors do have a heart of steel but has emotions too. One should not take them for granted by assuming you can treat or say what you like.

Their feelings are as important as the one’s they are fighting for.

I would like to cite a real life example that I saw from a distance.

I know a COVID warrior who has been in his capacity of laboratory technician has been working day and night helping test the swabs and blood. He did not go back to his house for straight 11 days. His aim to help expedite the tests resulted in more tests per day. His effort was acknowledged by the local authorities. His work in these 11 days have helped to create a catalyst that is now helping the labs across the country reduce the testing time by 7 hours.

But when he went back to his home on 12th day, he was shocked to see that his landlord has sealed his house on the ground of being one of the front line worker and has higher chance of being infected. Of course not completely true and he used the help of local police to get his house open up but by then he was already hurt. Emotionally he was drained and badly hurt.

The underlying message is simple. He is a true warrior and has a heart of steel to put his personal needs aside but still will always have an emotional heart (which one should take for granted).
